35 week update....

So the good news is.....baby is not in breech anymore. :) They found the heartbeat low, but did a quick ultrasound just to make sure and her head is definitely down so that is fantastic!

The other news is that we are watching my blood pressure very closely. Last week on Wednesday, after not feeling too good all day, I started seeing stars and black spots in my vision. Definitely not good. Josh and I went into Walmart to check to blood pressure and it was high. I sat and tried to relax and calm down and 15 minutes later it was back to normal. So the next morning I called my doctor and they had me come into the hospital to Labor and Delivery to do some monitoring and make sure my blood pressure wasn't too high. The worry here is preeclampsia. It is when your blood pressure gets to high and won't go down and the only solution is to have the baby! Well the first blood pressure reading at the hospital was WAY HIGH, but then it went down and stayed down for the next 3 hours I was there. They told me what signs to watch out for....headaches, blurry vision, right upper abdominal pain....and sent me home. I also had some blood and lab work done. I am also supposed to watch if my face gets puffy. Obviously most pregnant ladies deal with swollen hands and feet, but the face is a sign of preeclampsia. And just saying...on Sunday for church not ONE pair of my Sunday shoes would fit. Not good! I had to wear flip flops! lol. So that was last week....

Today I had my 35 week appt and my blood pressure is still borderline high. I still am seeing stars and flashes of light in my vision. My blood work and labs show that I don't have preeclampsia yet, but it looks like it is heading that way. So I am not on bed rest, but my doctor did say to take it very easy and rest as much as I can on my left side. So just watching that closely. Josh has been amazing and since he is available he has been able to help me out with my nanny job this week. So....not having the baby yet, but if my blood pressure gets any higher we will have to think about it! Luckily this week we are NOT in an extreme heat advisory here in Illinois. Last week for 6 days straight the heat index with humidity was around 115 F!! They think maybe I overheated/got dehydrated last week. So we will see.

Other than that I am feeling pretty good. Everything is mostly ready in the babies room. We had a car seat "appointment" on Saturday at Children's hospital in St Louis and they explained everything about the car seat and how to install it correctly...ect. We just got the mattress in the mail. Now just need to stock up on diapers and a couple more small things and I think we will be ready. It is pretty exciting how close it is getting!! :)

  2. Oh, Lindzer. I sure hope you don't have to go on bedrest. No fun. I can't believe how close it is getting. Please, please take pictures to show us when she gets here. I was thinking the other day that I don't know what you guys are naming her, but that's kind of exciting. Oooo....I'm getting excited just sitting here!
