I can't believe that I have not posted anything since March. I was all excited to make the blog and post the news about the pregnancy and then i guess i just got busy and life happened.
Things have been going really well except for two rounds of kidney stones. Crazy, huh? When I think of kidney stones I think of old men. Here i am 23 and now passed kidney stones on BOTH sides about a month and a half apart. The first time, the left kidney, landed me in the hospital on IV pain meds for an ENTIRE week. It was the worst pain I have ever had in my entire life. Normally with kidney stones, you can get an x-ray, find it and then go in and get it out. Since the doctors didn't want to expose the baby to radiation we decided to just keep me on pain meds and see if I could pass the stone on my own. I did, but it took a week. Josh and his family were so helpful and supportive during this time. Actually I was there over Mothers Day!! Happy first mothers day to me. Once our baby is here, i'm sure all the pain will be worth it! This picture shows all my IV's and the hospital room where I spent a week of my life in May.
/>Then exactly 40 days later it all happened again. This time Josh was out of town in California and luckily my friend Janae was able to take me to the emergency room in the middle of the night. This time I could feel it coming and sure enough my right kidney decided to pass a stone. This time I was only in the hospital 2 days, but it was still absolutely terrible. Who could have guessed that with all of the pregnancy things to deal with, I would also get to enjoy kidney stones???!!!
Wow Lindsay! That sounds so tough and painful! And now, passing a baby through you should be no big deal, huh?
